Rules & Regulations Overview
The Ancient Drama Festival, will be held February 22 - March 10, 2013 at the Hellenic Cultural Center in Astoria (27-09 Crescent Street, Astoria, NY 11105).
- Productions will be given the day before their performance to rehearse in the festival space.
- There will be two performances each day of the festival (matinee and evening).
- Directors are responsible for casting their own production and choosing your own crew. We will provide you with a general casting notice and referrals as needed.
- Each production is responsible for its own marketing (including poster and program creation).
- Sets should be minimalistic so as to be easily mobile.
- Multiple-actor performances should be kept 40-60 minutes long and monologues 15-25 minutes.
An Award Ceremony will be held for the participants the closing night of the festival and the 3 winning plays will be produced at an Off-Broadway venue.
Each participant is required to be active in his/her own Marketing and Public Relations efforts and should create:
- Participants also receive 35% of the ticket sales.

- Poster
- Postcards/Flyers
- A program
All participants will be required to participate in a Q&A during the Festival to discuss the production and its process, so please prepare for this via any necessary research.
Blog/Website for your play should include:
- Actor/Production Photos and Bios
- Notes from the Director
- Poster
- Rehearsal stills (optional)
- And any other supplementary material to improve your marketability
- This blog or website will be listed and linked on the ADF blog
